Privacy Policy
PrayZen is a social prayer app. Prayer is personal, so this policy is written to be read — short, honest, and specific. It covers the PrayZen mobile app and prayzen.com.
What we collect
- Account: a username you choose (no password or email is required during beta). If you later opt in to email updates or sign-in, we store your email address and your consent choice.
- Your content: prayer requests, blessings, journal reflections, and messages you send to the Companion. This content exists so the app can work — it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shown to anyone you didn't share it with.
- Connections: your friend list and prayer responses (who prayed for a request), which power the visible-support features you signed up for.
- Device basics: a push-notification token (so "someone prayed for you" can reach you) and app version info for fixing bugs.
- Waitlist (website): your email address, if you join it.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no selling or renting your data — ever.
- No tracking you across other apps or websites.
- No reading your prayers for any purpose other than operating the features you use.
AI features
Optional features (the Companion, AI prayer help) send the text you provide to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. That text is processed to produce the reply and handled under Anthropic's API data policies; we don't use it to train models. AI content is for inspiration and companionship — it is not therapy, counseling, or crisis care. If you are in crisis in the US, call or text 988.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL, hosted in the US). Push notifications are delivered via Expo and Apple/Google push services. We keep data only as long as your account exists.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and its data from Profile → Settings inside the app, or by emailing [email protected] from any address with your username. Deletion removes your account, content, and connections from our systems within 30 days.
Children
PrayZen is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
